Pool Opening Options

Before you can dive into the season, your pool needs to be professionally prepared for use. In our experience, most pools require more than just an initial cleaning during the opening process. That’s why we recommend a follow-up cleaning visit 48–72 hours after opening. Typically, 1 or 2 additional cleanings are needed to get your pool sparkling and operating like new—perfectly ready for the warm weather. For your convenience, we offer three pool opening options:

Standard Pool Opening 

  • Remove, dry, and store pool winter cover
  • Re-assemble Filtration System and start Pool Pump
  • Inspect Filter Cartridges, Grids or Salt Cell and clean if necessary (Additional charge)
  • Pool Cleaning – Clear debris and vacuum
  • Analyze water chemistry and add Opening Chemical Kit (Specialty chemicals provided at additional charge if required)
  • Re-install ladders
  • Clear debris around pool and pool deck

Pool Opening w/Follow-Up Cleanings

  • Everything included in Standard Opening
  • Follow-up Pool Cleaning 48-72 hours after Opening
  • Any chemicals provided for Follow-up Cleanings will be additional costs

Drain and Clean Opening

  • Drain water from pool
  • Power wash pool – Acid wash, if needed
  • Re-fill pool water (handled by the homeowner or arranged by McLean Pool and Spa for an additional fee)
  • Everything included in Standard Pool Opening
